NHL Fan App
Spec Pitch
Product: iOS
Role: UX Writer
Tools: Figma
Background
I’m an avid hockey fan. If I can’t watch a game, I’ll listen to it on the radio. I wanted to create a dedicated hockey app that appeals to fans like me that hate missing games.
Of course, there are other apps that provide this service. But I tend to find the actual scores to be bogged down by bad design. Sometimes I just want to see what my team is up to.
Target User
Jesse just had a new baby, but he doesn't want to miss out on his favorite sport. Through this dedicated hockey app, Jesse would get news and highlights for his favorite team without having to go through too many menus.
A persona mockup for Jesse including pain points, motivations, and some demographic info on the user.

Example of the notification options available to users to get the perfect play by play experience.
Above is the first iteration of the on boarding process. I continued the casual tone and added some humor for the person signing up.
Below is the final version of the on boarding process I went with. I found having all the steps on one page too be very busy, so I separated them into three separate pages.
